The Expected Completion Dates of Newport Residences
The developer gives 1 March 2030 as the expected date of vacant possession for Newport Residences and 1 March 2033 as the expected date of legal completion. The homes are sold while Newport Plaza is under construction, on the progressive payment scheme, and the dates that apply to a particular home are set out in its sale and purchase agreement. Newport Residences is open for sale now, and the Sales Concierge sends the latest price list, the homes still available and the full project details.

Vacant Possession and Legal Completion at Newport Residences
The two dates mark different steps, and both come from the developer’s particulars: vacant possession is expected on 1 March 2030 and legal completion on 1 March 2033. Both are stated as expected dates, and the project details page lists them with the other confirmed particulars.
Two instalments mark the end of construction under the payment scheme: 25% falls due at the Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) and the final 15% at the Certificate of Statutory Completion. The notices the developer sends as each stage is certified show the progress of the building between now and then.
Construction Stages Before Newport Residences Is Completed
Newport Plaza is being built to the design of Nikken Sekkei, with ADDP Architects as principal architect and Ecoplan Asia on the landscape. Between the sale and purchase agreement and TOP, the building passes through six certified stages: the foundation, the reinforced concrete framework, the partition walls, the roofing and ceiling, the doors, windows, electrical wiring and plumbing, and finally the car park, roads and drains. Each certified stage brings a notice from the developer, and the bank pays that instalment.
Because Newport Plaza is already under construction, some stages may already be certified when a home is booked. Their instalments then fall due on the timetable in the sale and purchase agreement, which usually means a larger sum early on, and the Sales Concierge confirms the stages reached for a particular home.
What Has Already Happened Around Newport Residences
Some milestones are already in place. Newport Plaza received its BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certification in 2021, according to CDL, and on 12 July 2026 the Land Transport Authority opened Circle Line Stage 6, bringing Prince Edward Road and Cantonment stations into service beside Anson Road and closing the Circle Line loop. The stage added three stations between HarbourFront and Marina Bay: Keppel (CC30), Cantonment (CC31) and Prince Edward Road (CC32).
The site itself carried the Fuji Xerox Towers. Its redevelopment as Newport Plaza came under the URA’s CBD Incentive Scheme, which gave the new tower a 25% uplift in gross floor area for adding homes and serviced apartments to the financial district.
Planning Around the Newport Residences Timeline
For a buyer, the years before completion are largely about cash flow. The 5% booking fee and the 15% due on the sale and purchase agreement come first, Buyer’s Stamp Duty and any Additional Buyer’s Stamp Duty fall due within 14 days of signing, and the bank’s share is drawn stage by stage after that. Interest during construction is charged only on what has been drawn, so repayments start low and rise as the tower goes up. A buyer planning a long loan should note that a tenure longer than 30 years, or a loan running past the borrower’s 65th birthday, moves a first housing loan to the lower limit of 55%, with at least 10% in cash.
Owner-occupiers can plan a move around the expected vacant possession date, and families around the school calendar. The latest updates page records each step as it happens, the payment scheme page sets out every instalment, and the progressive payment calculator gives the sum due at each stage.
What Comes Next at Newport Residences
Between now and completion, the record of Newport Residences will grow in four ways. The balance units chart will update as sales continue, and new caveats will appear on the recent transactions page, listed unit by unit with the unit number, status and date.
Construction milestones under the progressive payment scheme will follow, stage by stage, towards vacant possession on 1 March 2030. Statutory changes to stamp duty or loan limits, if any, will be reflected on the stamp duty and housing loan pages. The balance units chart and the recent transactions page carry the records as they update, and the Sales Concierge sends the homes still available on request.
