Heritage and Parks Around Newport Residences
Tanjong Pagar grew from a fishing village and later the docks that gave Anson Road its port character, which the name Newport recalls. The Rail Corridor, whose masterplan Nikken Sekkei prepared, begins at the former railway station a little to the west and runs north across the island, and Pearl’s Hill City Park lies beyond Chinatown; the developer names both among the parks near the tower.
